In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition, we will be hosting a tasting of rare and exotic ales on Tuesday, April 8th at our Lindbergh Center Taco Mac location. I asked some breweries and distributors to find some items that people do not commonly have access to, and came up with 10 offerings from 6 breweries that I am very excited about. There will be some casks, some bottled beer, and some conventional draft beers, all served upstairs as a private function of the restaurant. In addition, we will have a great buffet of hearty food to temper the strength of the beer. The food will be dished out by our staff, but this will not be a sit-down beer dinner atmosphere. You are welcome to taste as much beer and food as you like, while supplies last. Some of these beers are in short supply, so punctuality will be important. We are going to start at 6 pm, and go until we feel like quitting, or the beer is gone, whichever comes first. In addition, there will be some brewery personnel on hand to answer questions and generally just have a good time.

The link to this event is right there on the main page. Incidentally, if you want to know what beers we are going to be serving exactly, I was hoping for that to be surprise. However, appropriately cajoled, I may disclose one or two to pique interest. The cost is $70 plus tax, and that includes gratuity. Please look at the food menu as well, because it looks great, and should do justice to the outstanding beers available.
For those of you who have not been there before, our Lindbergh Center store is essentially part of the Marta complex, as well as very close to 400 and 85. There is also a parking deck that is free for the first two hours, or totally free if you park above the third level. There is also a free valet service there if you choose to use it.
