I made it back from Belgium (and France, Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands) and will be at the meeting Saturday. I might even have a couple of beers to sample, so if you want to try the "best" beer in the world be sure to be there!
I was wondering about what everyone else is bringing. It is a bit far for me from PTC, but I have been dying to go to at least one meeting in my lifetime.
I have a couple things to bring. I have a Bear Republic Pale Ale (XP Pale) that is chilling down a bit now. I was able to get it shipped in from Tucson finally. I've also got a homebrew to bring. It is, in my opinion, almost an IPA so I'm calling it a Pale Ale for the purpose of this meeting. It was brewed to be an IPA but fell slightly short.
I'll be bringing a sample of a homebrewed Bier de Blonde. Story to follow at the meeting I guess.
Can't wait to see what B&K have in store for the pairings.
Side Note: Went to Twain's last night and had a cask beer. It was very mild and creamy like a Guinness, but more in the style of an ESB. I'm sure you English haters wouldn't have cared for it. I thought it was awesome. So awesome in fact I drank 4 of them. And 4 is a good bit for me. It went very well with their Summer Solstice Pig Roast meal.
We will probably see a few of the following: Sierra Nevada, Sweetwater, Atlanta Brewing..... I am trying to get my hands on Stone Pale Ale if my cop buddy goes up to Chatanooga this week.
By the way.... PTC is not a big drive.... I try to attend most meetings and drive to PTC every time. Gas prices suck donkey dung, but it is all about good beer. Jeff, Greg, Eric etc all live over in that area so maybe you all can split the gas or something.
Just checking in to see what everyone may be bringing. I am going to try and make a run to Greens or Tower tomorrow for the APA. No Stone unfortunately. Anything needed for the food pairing?
o hell its not that far. i guess fayette has a lot of vineyards with all that wine people do about driving to henry. we dont complain driving to fayette county. im sure you can carpool with the other fayette members. i dont mean to sound like a dick but i hope with these meetings in different places WE ALL COME TO THEM. our club is growing and its great when we all get together.
