Cheap temperature controller

I'm a bit late getting this in here, as it's been over a month now.

With the summer weather here, I was looking to get my chest freezer set up to ferment, but hadn't had a chance to look around much for a LV thermostat or controller. After looking online at several brew suppliers (doug was closed) and stopping in at some shops on the Northside while working up there, I found a Ranco ETC 111000 on Ebay for around forty bucks. the only difference between it and the ones in the stores is that you have to pitch in your own $3.00 home depot extension cord (you'll need both ends).

Anyhow, with this setup, you can set the temp on the freezer, and give it whatever span you want ( I set it at 58 with a 5 degree span, and it only cycles the freezer once or twice a day in my 90 degree shop). Works great, and it's cheaper than most dial type controllers. Just make sure you get one that's set up for line voltage. I'll put some pictures up soon.

Anybody in the club that

Anybody in the club that wants a Johnson Controls temp controller or a Ranco, I can get them for 52.00$ Brand new all day long. I get them from the refrigeration wholesaler, I do a/c for a living. Let me know.

Ranco

That's to bad I just bought a Ranco today off ebay. Thanks for the offer though.

Steve

Sorry for the delay

I've been on the road, and lost touch with my brewing roots. I still haven't been in town for a brew day or meeting yet. Anyhow... That's the same controller I got, and I believe the same seller. It works great and is easy to set up. I sent you an email with my phone number if you have any questions.

Hey Steve:

Sorry I didn't call back last week (or the week before). I accidentally deleted your message, and i was out on the rig with limited access to my email. I'm available the next couple of weeks by phone, and will have my email full time from here on out.
