Well, I didn't make it camping in North Georgia after all...due to a stupid brewery accident. My boil kettle has a lever valve without one of those pesky locks (which I will be changing shortly!). I was wearing mid thigh length gym shorts and as I walk past the kettle, the valve handle got caught in the stretchy material and opened enough for a small stream of boiling wort to arc out the valve and INTO MY SHOE. ouch. I was planning on making it to the meeting after all but after spending all day working on my daughters treehouse my wife wouldn't let me push it any more. Why is it MY feet always on show for brewery accidents?

Thanks for the well-wishing comments. I had planned to post another picture that is much grosser than the first but I never took it and now it is starting to heal and look better.

Glad you are okay... Eric was the only member who would belittle himself enough to drive over to the Henry County side of the club for this meeting any way. Should have offerred more grapes for the Fayette side (Exception being Greg and Jeff) :-)

now that is going to leave a mark! Let's hope that something like this doesn't happen again. It almost looks like you might have been at the end of the boil there, from the burn.
Do hope that your okay and that it don't bother you too much with socks and having to walk around all day.
