This came to me from the Ale Atlanta mail list. It's probably a scam, but we do live in the bible belt... Take it for what it's worth.

I just talked to a friend of mine who received a letter today in the mail as referenced below. This particular person has also not brewed in a number of years. The email below was forwarded to me and originated on a different beer email list (Chicken City Ale Raisers?). I'm wondering if anyone on this list got a similar letter. The letter he received was unsigned, had no letterhead and is also postmarked North Metro as below.
Weird??

Subject: brewing and the law
I just got a weird letter. It quotes the Georgia law regarding producing max 50 gal. Then it says:
"Per information I have received you are exceeding the 50 gallon limit.
Your name and address has been forward to the sheriff of your county," - the bad grammer is a direct quote
I don't know whether it's supposed to be a joke or some butthead is serious? It was in a window envelope with no return address. The postmark is from "NORTH METRO GA 300. 30 SEP 2008 PM 4 L". Where did they get my address? which was wrong!
Has anyone else gotten this yet? For better or worse, I haven't brewed near that much in the last 3 years! Is there some disgrunteled ex-brewer lurking out there?
Look out for the beer nazis!!
