Brew Day Stout

Hey has anyone tried the stout yet from the brew day at Johnny Rockets? I tried mine while transferring it to a keg and it was pretty good. Roasty with some light chocolate finish.

I dry hopped with an ounce

I dry hopped with an ounce of Cascade when I put it in the keg. As usual, I'm over carbonated. May figure this carbonation thing one day.

I tried a tiny sample early-early Friday morning (3ish) when I got home form the hospital. I am having a room temperature glass right now. Lost my edge (from training) as I haven't had a beer since Monday evening (shameful, I know) and half way through I'm getting floaty. (might just be lack of sleep/stress)

Impressions:
Has an incredible "cascading" head, like poetry in motions, and a nice mouth feel with no alcohol burn. I get coffee and dark chocolate in the nose. I don't really get the Cascade as a standalone, or discernible, aroma. (a good thing probably) Taste certainly has the roasty, coffee up front, with a soft bitter chocolate finish.

Amazing

Maxwell House makes all the difference in the world. This has gotten better with age. Served some of it Friday night.

Stout

Tried mine for a week ago and thought it needed more roast. I dropped 1/2 pound of fresh ground coffee beans in the keg Tuesday that am going to pull off tonight. Will let you know if anything changes.

I HOPE EVERY BODY likes it.

I HOPE EVERY BODY likes it. if you dont send complaints to jeff.no just kidding if the roast is a little lacking think of it as a dry stout. next time we will increase roast since i have heard this allready. i will try lamars soon.

Roast

I think the coffee beans gave it the aroma and flavor I like in stouts. Now the question is how to get my hop sack out of the keg without contamination. Would not want those coffee grounds to give me a stuck dip tube.
