SoupNight at Jonny&Annies

Hey folks! So the time of year has come for Annie and me to start our Fall and Winter monthly soup nights! It’s pretty much an excuse for friends to get together with food and drink. And the best food to warm up to when things get cold is soup, at least for us. The goings on will be on the 1st of November which will be the first Saturday of the month. People usually show up around 5-7pm and things last throughout the night. It’s a way for good people to get together and get some party out of there system really. This month’s soup is an old family recipe of mine for potato soup. Mostly made in my brewing kettles, I use a mix of red skin potatoes, fresh pepper corns, milk, cream, etc. with lots of bacon and breads to throw on the side. It makes for a meal that keeps the belly happy. Anyone interested in coming please give me a call or email reply beforehand. Do to this being a group effort we try and let people use the old rule of BYOB and anything else they would like to bring is always fine to.
Cheers,
Jonny

...damn...I LOVE soup but

...damn...I LOVE soup but just read the post at 9pm Saturday so I won't be making it. Johnny, sorry but I ended up not brewing last Saturday. Had last minute out of town guests. I will be doing a Helles with a single decoction this coming Friday if you're interested in observing.

this friday sounds good

Hey Greg, I reposted SoupNight for next week which you may have already read. It would be great if you guys could make it. I also decided to take a last minute vacation for this next week. So my schedule is pretty much open for brewing. In fact I’m just setting up for a chocolate oatmeal stout today.
Cheers,
Jonny

Johnny, I will probably

Johnny, I will probably start brewing about noon on Friday. It will be an involved mash: dough in at 146, rest 45 minutes, increase to 156 and rest the main mash while I pull 1/3 for a decoction, which will then be added back to the main mash to achieve mash out. If you can make it email me for details:

hey greg

So in all the commotion of things this week I forgot that I did not have your phone number. I got stuck with a 10 gallon batch of stout last night that was taking is time to boil, and so I didn’t hit the hay until 3:00 this morning. But if by some chance you run across this email before you get started then if you could give me a call. It wouldn’t take much for me to head over your way. Thanks
Jonny

Sounds great! I’ll be

Sounds great! I’ll be looking forward to it. Thanks for letting me tag along. I’ll give you a call around 11am or so to make sure everything is still a go.
Cheers,
Jonny

Hey Johnny

Thanks for the invite.... I am ref-ing 3 games tonight or else I am a fool for potato soup. Definitely hook up the recipe. So the next night would be the 1st Saturday in December? Will have to see if Angel and I can get it on the calendar.

Also, we need to sync up about doing Twain's. Jordan sent me an email to just let him know what day and to bring him some beer. Anyone else in the club is welcome to go of course. Jordan is going to give us a brewery tour and samples etc. I am thinking around mid-month?

Hey Mike

Sorry about the date mix-up for SoupNight. Hopefully you guys can make it next Saturday. I agree with getting together for Twain’s. I’ll have to get with Annie to see what her school schedule looks like, but I’m sure we will work something out.
Cheers,
Jonny

Johnny, Melissa and I would

Johnny,

Melissa and I would love to be there but we're out of town until tomorrow. Hopefully we can catch it next time. I love the idea. Too bad you live so damn far away. Ha!

Hey Glenn

Sorry about sending out the wrong date for SoupNight. Hopefully you guys can make it next Saturday. I was also going to see what all was going on down at the jailhouse this coming week. I took a weeks vacation and was going to fit in some time to come see how all the hard work is coming along. Vacation is never as fun when it’s spent trying to catch up on to-do lists. So getting out of the house would be something to look forward to.
Cheers,
Jonny

Come on by any time. I work

Come on by any time. I work right next door and am always here. Call me before you come if you want. 404-729-7681

hey glenn

Looks like I wont get a chance to come by the jailhouse this week. I’ve been out job hunting this week and I have a few interviews that are filling up the spare time I had before. But one day soon I would like to come check the place out. Hey, soup and liquor Saturday night!
Cheers,
Jonny
