At this Saturday's meeting we agreed to do a club brew day at my home in Hampton. The plans that we agreed to follow. (please correct me if I get any points wrong...It was a good meeting! I'll make corrections as needed):
We have NOT chosen what to make, but I believe that Brian volunteered to be the Brew Master. I ALWAYS want IPA, or Pale Ale... I think Brian should suggest recipes that we can agree on. We need to make that decision ASAP so we can start getting a head count for wort. Cost per gallon will be determined after we know what the ingredients list will be. Remember that Just Brew It will close on May 2nd for the month.
We would like to have some idea who will be attending so we can plan lunch. The food we decided to have is a low country boil. (If you've never been to a one plan to attend...your in for a treat). Several agreed to bring various foods to add to the pot. We didn't write it down so I'm asking now that you email me (if I didnt get it below).
Will and Lamar were looking into the craw fish. (Shrimp are not allowed as one of our members has an allergy). I suggest that we contribute to the cost of the mud bugs since these wonderful little morsals are not cheap. Jonny said he would bring locally grown red potatoes from a local farmer. (Sounds great Jonny)! I will be providing all the coffee you can drink, crab boil, a case of paper towels, LP gas and a 9 gallon pot with a strainer basket.
Someone said they would bring sausage (sorry no idea who it was) We also need fresh corn on the cob, perhaps some kind of salad and/or deserts. Michael... no pressure, but we expect you to bring Angel's salsa (even if you cant make it). :)
Remember that the pool is open and all are welcome to swim. Please bring a towels (however, we do have spare beach towels if you need one), chairs (or lounge chair for poolside), and sun screen. Please don't plan to use tanning oils. They are harmful to the filter.

I have not met any of you yet, but I would like to come to the brew day on Saturday and learn a few things.
I will bring potatoes, & sausage and mushrooms for the crawfish boil. I would also like to take home 5 gallons of wort if there is still a spot open.
Hello Wendell and, since I
Hello Wendell and, since I haven't seen you around, welcome to the forum. We will have more than enough wort for you, so bring it on. I have to warn you that we have a rule about paying the BrewMaster for your share of the materials that went into the batch before you leave, so just come prepared. The price isn't set set in stone until the end of the day, but I was told that it's looks like it'll be in the range of $30+ per 5 gallons. I assume you have a brew bucket or carboy and an airlock. We'll have sanitizers here so you don't need to bring any of that unless you don't like to use Starsan.
Lamar already spoke for the potatoes just bring the sausage and mushrooms (nice idea by the way). I'll update the food and wort list right now...
Look forward to meeting you
Look forward to meeting you all. See you Saturday.
Great Brew Day!!
Wendell, Chris, and shit I forgot your name, it was great meeting you all. I hope you had a good time. We have a very diverse club, and it is usually a good time. Awesome food, though Will should have let us hook him up for the critters. Just sitting here now watching the bubbles get freaky in the carboy. Oh what a beautiful site.
Johnny, we were counting on the crab and lobster for the boil, brotha.... You left us hanging! Just kidding. Sucks you had to miss out.

So it looks like I will not be able to make this weekend after all. Our sitter bailed and is unable to watch Lucky. I was planning to bring potatoes and take home 5 gallons of wort, so I hope I haven’t screwed the poodle too much. We’re still planning on having the meeting at the end of the month at our place and looking forward to seeing you all then. Sorry again for the late notice. Just got the news myself.
Cheers,
Jonny

Brew Day Host- UPDATE
We are having trouble finding the Crawfish for the boil. If you know a source email me or call Will. We may just have to substitute some mix if diced chicken (or drumsticks) and/or some fish. Either way, it'll be good.
Ok, so I heard that Brew Master Brian is doing a Big Blond Ale. (great choice bu the way) Please post that you definitely DO want in on this (2.5 or 5 gallons). IF you actually only want 2.5, I think you're insane, but I'm sure we can manage. We need to know, sooner rather than later, so brewing supplies can be purchased.
Brian-I am happy to donate hops, once you know what you want.
