My father and I just planted these on his farm outside Alpena, MI. They appear to like it up there. Alpena is at the 45th meridian...way the f--- up there!

But also saw that this was in Alpena, MI. My dad lives in Presque Isle, Mi near Rogers City. I have been meaning to go visit my dad there again, kinda of miss Posen Pub, and Grand Lake Bar. Curious as to how the brewery turned out and if they got all of that paper smell out of the place! LOL!

The micro you're referring to is/was the Fletcher Street Brewing Company http://www.fletcherstreetbrewing.com/welcome.html in Alpena. I understand that their brewmaster left about a year ago and I'm pretty sure they went "tango uniform" shortly thereafter. I thought they had a pretty cool gig going on there. They had a great little bar setup overlooking the Thunder Bay River where they had good local entertainment on weekends. In fact, my brother-in-law used to play stand-up bass in a bluegrass band there. Their deal was that they brewed on premises and served only beer. They had menus available from local restaurants that would deliver food right to your table. No hassles with food service, regs, inspections, inventory, extra workers, etc. - just $ from the high-margin brew. I'm not sure why they couldn't keep it together, but I still think it's a cool business model.
