hey folks, i was wondering if anyone has tried the american amber that we brewed last month. looking for some feedback good or bad. but mostly bad so i can fix any problems that came up. thanks for all the help.
cheers,
jonny
i used 1056(starter). Pretty consistent ferm temp of 69. I kegged after 3 weeks and since been in the kegerator. Its very brite, has good carb but on sweet side. I'll give more feedback as it ages.
Well, I used Will's yeast and took straight home in a better bottle of will's also. I let this one sit for a bit but it is in bottles now and has been for 2 weeks or so.. I dont know if this could be because of possible higher fermentation temps, but mine is REALLY fruity.. It smells really dark and super sweet. Not at all what I was expecting. Almost too sweet to drink but still crisp and bright. I dont know.. ha
I've now tried both of my bottlings. They are very different of course, and both good! I'll heve them available for sampling on the 26th. If anyone else can bring some we can really experience the differences in "house flavor".
The 1st was 2 gallons that were bottled a week and a half ago. I tried it last night, but my taste buds were already ruined with a BAD IPA I had been drinking. Not being familiar with the hops used (Liberty?) I can't tell how much of that flavor come out. It's a bit young yet. I look forward to hearing other opinions.
The 2nd batch was 4 gallons and was dry hopped with Galena. It was just bottled on Sunday.
