It's simple to set your forum post to appear on the home page so others can see it. At the bottom of the posting page there is a Publishing Options menu. By clicking it you will be presented with four options. One of them is "Publish to Front Page". By checking that option, your posting will show on the front page. This works for all posting too, not just forum postings.
