Kirk requested a way to receive email updates from the site. He was mostly interested in forums threads since they take time to browse. I was able to configure it so you now have a "My Subscriptions" section. This will allow you to pick and choose what posts you would like to receive through email instead of having to go to the site.

To activate Forum subscriptions you have to go the "My Subscriptions" and under the heading "Content Types" check "Forum Topics". This will activate the link to subscribe to specific forum topics.

I'm not very familiar with this feature so it may require some troubleshooting. Give it a go. I hope it helps.
