I almost forgot about the guiness toast which happens tonight. For those who like this style of beer should have a pint to toast to Arthur Guiness and his long standing lease. Besides how else would we have such BJCP styles relating to English Bitters and Ale's without Mr. Guiness?
here is a link to check out some of the information if you prefer.

From an KegWorks add:
George Washington: Beer Enthusiast
The father of our country was also the father of American
craft brewing. Washington housed a serious English-style
Porter brewing operation at his Mt. Vernon estate for two
reasons; he wanted to eliminate dependence on foreign
goods to further the colonies' independence and he loved
beer so much, he couldn't bear the thought of running out.
Grover Cleveland: A Man of Excess
Cleveland was known for his beer belly and it was common
knowledge that he drank beer daily. In 1870, during a race
I can't remember where you said it would be located
So the other day I went by Just Brew It and talked to Doug, and thought about doing the style of month for March. I am still not sure whether to get 2 extract kits or just one and do another one I have a recipe for. I think that I just might go ahead and get 2 of them anyways and buy another ferment bucket to start the other one a week before the secondary get bottled.

I heard a mention about the club Web site at the last meeting but missed and/or forgot the details. Is this the site that will be used from now on or is it the other at the .net URL?
From the Guardian (UK): Drinking beer could help prevent weak bones
"Beer is a rich source of a nutrient that can help prevent weak bones – but it depends what type you drink, claim researchers at University of California, Davis, today.
"As one of the nation's favourite tipples, beer is a rich source of dietary silicon, which can help cut the chance of developing diseases like osteoporosis, they conclude.
I have a strange question here. The place we are currently calling home has a nice basement "garage" in which I plan to brew on Wednesday. This area is intended for storage of gas engine equipment like lawn tractors, tillers, etc. It is equipped with two heat activated sprinklers on the ceiling. I am concerned that brewing near one of these may trigger a catastrophic dilution of the mash or wort. I plan to place my setup away from an area directly under one of the sprinklers and point a portable fan to blow on the sprinkler trying to keep the heat away.
